Condition: Mint
Suitable for: Everyone

This very lightly used H.A. Vas Dias baroque oboe is tuned to A=440, making it suitable for modern orchestra performance. It’s based on the original hand made instrument by Jacob Denner A=415 (Nurnberg MIR 370). It was made in 2015.

Mr. Vas Dias is now in his 90’s (and going strong). How many more of these will be made? We don’t know.

It’s a gorgeous work of art and an easy playing instrument. This oboe is supplied with a handmade Vas Dias reed which was made for this instrument. It is pitched at A=440.

The body is stunningly beautiful Boxwood finished in sweet almond oil. Tenon ends are hand wrapped. The three key system is handmade of brass.

This is an inspired, higher tuned version of an Denner original which was measured and examined by Mr. Vas Dias in Lisbon, Portugal in 2007. There are very few of these A=440, hand made, museum quality instruments available.

A handmade Vas Dias reed, fingering chart, information/care page and plush drawstring bag are included.
