This Fox professional model 201 was made in 1980. It’s a classic short bore instrument with very good intonation and a beautiful upper register.
Brian Charles just cleaned, oiled, adjusted, and play-tested this bassoon here in our shop and it’s ready to play in every way. This is a pro-level instrument at a reasonable price and would work well for advanced students, doublers, adult enthusiasts, and pro players.
The red maple wood body is in very good condition with no boot rot and no tone hole issues. The original classic medium red finish is in excellent condition.
The German system silver-plated keywork system has just been cleaned and oiled. It has the average Fox light pitting in many spots and is in great shape. It has some new pads and good condition pads throughout.
This bassoon features metal tone hole inserts, a lined wing joint, a lined small bore on the boot, a new style in-line body lock, a metal bell ring, and a crutch with crutch assembly. It has high D, 6 rollers, and both a right-hand and left-hand whisper key lock.
The Heckel CD-V #1 bocal and the Fox CVX #2 bocal are in very good condition. A brand new ProTec integral case is included.
