This Fox 240 bassoon was made in 2015 and kept in near-mint condition. It’s a one-owner instrument with a beautiful singing tone.
Brian Charles just oiled and play-tested this bassoon here in our shop and it’s ready to play in every way. Used Fox 240s are very hard to come by. They play well, they age well, and they maintain their value over time. Perfect for students, doublers, and adult enthusiasts, and as a great backup horn for pro players.
The red maple wood body is in near-mint condition. The finish is in near-mint condition.
The German system silver-plated keywork system is clean, shiny, and oiled. It is likewise in near-mint condition.
This bassoon features metal tone hole inserts, a lined wing joint, a lined small bore on the boot, the new style in-line body lock, a metal bell ring, and a crutch and crutch assembly. It has high D and high E, 6 rollers, and a right-hand whisper key lock.
The Fox *CVX* #3 bocal is in excellent condition.
The original Fox integral case is in very good condition. There is wear on the handles.
