This Fox Renard model 222 bassoon was made in 1980. It’s been played throughout the years and kept in nice condition.
We just replaced numerous pads and bumpers, cleaned, oiled, adjusted, and play tested this bassoon here in our shop and it’s ready to play in every way. This is a hard to find Fox at a reasonable price and would work well for students, doublers, and adult enthusiasts.
The maple wood body is in very good condition with no boot rot, and no tone hole issues. The beautiful original mahogany red finish from Fox is in better than average condition with wear limited to the usual spots and some bumps and dents as could be expected.
The German system silver plated keywork system has just been cleaned and oiled. It has light pitting in some spots, but overall is in very good condition.
This bassoon features metal tone hole inserts, lined wing joint, lined small bore on boot, body lock, crutch and crutch assembly. It has 4 rollers, and a a short reach plateau key for the third finger of the left hand for those with smaller hands. This extra key can be easily removed if not wanted.
The Fox C #2 bocal is in good condition. A brand new ProTec integral case is included.
