This Fox Renard intermediate bassoon has been a one-owner instrument since it was new in 2009. It’s in excellent condition with very minimal signs of use. The scale is very even, and it projects wonderfully. It is a “short bore” bassoon known for being a flexible, free-blowing instrument with a strong singing quality.

Brian Charles just cleaned, oiled, adjusted, and play-tested this bassoon here in our shop and it’s ready to play in every way. This instrument is appropriate for intermediate to advanced students, doublers, adult enthusiasts, and semi-pro players.

The red maple wood body is in excellent condition. There are a few minor dents as might be expected and virtually no wear at any of the touchpoints.

The German system silver-plated keywork system has just been cleaned and oiled. It retains all the luster of new and has just a few minor nicks. The pads are in excellent condition throughout.

This bassoon features the full German key system, with a right-hand whisper key lock, high D key, high E key, ring key for left-hand third finger, crowned pancake key, and rollers for left little finger E♭ and D♭, right little finger F and A♭, and right thumb B♭ and F♯

The Fox *CVC* #3 bocal is in excellent condition. The original Fox case is in excellent condition. The Fox fitted cloth cover with shoulder strap is in very good condition with some wear near the hinge area. The original crutch and seat strap are included.
