This mountain maple Fox model II bassoon was made in 2000. It was fully overhauled at the Fox factory in 2016 and looks like it was done yesterday. The intonation is rock solid and in addition to a warm tone throughout, it has beautiful upper register.
This is a pro level instrument at a reasonable price and would work well for advanced students, doublers, adult enthusiasts, and pro players.
The mountain maple wood body is in near mint condition with no issues. The original finish from Fox is in near mint condition with very slight signs of use.
The German system silver plated keywork system has just been lightly cleaned and oiled. It really needed nothing much.
This bassoon features high D and high E, 5 rollers, a right hand whisper key lock, left hand Eb trill, silver tone hole water inserts, lined wing joint, lined small bore on boot, newer style in-line body lock, crutch and crutch assembly.
Three bocals are included. A Yamaha PN #2, a Fox *CVC* #2, and a Fox *CVX* #3, all in excellent condition. The Fox semi oval pro case is in very good condition with average signs of use. There are a few light scratches on the exterior of the hard shell. The fitted cloth cover is in excellent condition.
