This is a classic German made Gordet English horn with that big, lush sound for which they are known. It has an especially rich and resonant lower register. It was made in 1985.
Brian Charles just overhauled and play-tested this English horn here in our shop and it’s ready to play in every way. This is a perfect upgrade to take someone into college or orchestra.
The grenadilla wood body is in excellent condition and just oiled. There was an minor bell crack, long repaired and barely noticeable.
The full conservatory, full plateau silver plated keywork system is in clean, shiny, excellent condition. It has the classic robust German Gordet silver plating. It has new pads, new cork tenons, new bocal corks, and is in excellent condition throughout.
This instrument features left hand F, split D, banana key, and both trill keys.
The Loree #1 and unnamed #1 bocal in silver are in excellent condition.
The original hard shell double oboe/EH case is in very good condition with minor wear inside. The fitted cloth cover is functional, but quite worn.
