This 1985 Italian Gordet was finished at the Gordet shop in Westchester, NY by Alan Hollander. It has that big, lush sound for which they are known. It has an especially rich and resonant lower register.
Brian Charles just overhauled and play-tested this English horn here in our shop and it’s ready to play in every way. This is a perfect upgrade to take someone into college or orchestra.
The grenadilla wood body is in excellent condition and has just been hand cleaned throughout and freshly bore-oiled. The minor bell crack was professionally repaired long ago and is hard to locate.
The full conservatory, full plateau silver plated keywork system is in clean, shiny, excellent condition. It has the classic robust Gordet silver plating. It has all new pads, new cork tenons, and new bocal corks, and is in excellent condition throughout.
This instrument features left-hand F, split D, banana key, and both trill keys.
The Loree #1 and silver #1 bocal in silver are both in excellent condition.
The original hard shell double oboe/EH case is in very good condition with minor wear inside. The fitted cloth cover is functional but quite worn.
