This is a classic German made Gordet oboe with that big, lush sound for which they are known. It has an especially rich and resonant lower register. It was made in 1976.
Brian Charles cleaned, oiled, adjusted, and play-tested this oboe here in our shop and it’s ready to play in every way. This is a perfect upgrade to take someone into college or community orchestra.
The grenadilla wood body is in excellent condition. There was an extremely small crack on the top joint. We can’t find any cracks, but with a magnifier, we find that there were two pins used to fix the crack.
The full conservatory, full plateau silver plated keywork system is in clean, shiny, excellent condition. It has the classic robust German Gordet silver plating. It has some new pads and excellent condition pads throughout.
This oboe features 3rd octave key, left hand F, F resonance key, low Bb, Bb resonance key, banana key, and both trill keys.
The original hard shell case is in excellent condition with small dents and bumps on the exterior as would be expected.
