This Heckel bassoon was made in 1957 and played professionally in the US. It was owned and played for years in San Francisco by a very well known pro player.
We just repadded, cleaned, oiled, adjusted, and play tested this bassoon here in our shop. It will take a little breaking in for it to reach full potential but the potential is very good indeed.
The maple wood body has a black finish which has been touched up nicely. Overall, it’s in excellent condition. No boot rot, no tone hole issues, one minor repaired crack in the upper tenon of the bass joint.
The German system silver plated keywork system is cleaned and oiled. It has average signs of use, with less than usual wear on the touch keys.
This bassoon features high E, 7 rollers, right hand alternate whisper key, and a right hand whisper key lock.
The Heckel CC #2 bocal has exterior wear, but no damage and no dents. The Heckel C #1 bocal is in excellent condition. A brand new ProTec integral case is included.
