Description
This Heckel bocal was made sometime before World War 2. This rare “pre-war” Heckel bocal is a CC #2 model in silver. It has a perpendicular number 2 in line with the bocal, and 2 parallel letter c’s as seen in the close-up photo.
It’s in excellent condition with no repairs done or needed. There is a 1mm x 4mm minor loss of plating under the bend, and a very small dimple on the side opposite the pip at the halfway point.
I tried this bocal on one of our 9,000 series Heckel bassoons here at the shop. It’s focused and lively and the overall intonation and tone character was excellent.
It has a new cork.
