This taille, also called the taille de hautbois, tenor oboe, or alto oboe is pitched in F and was made by Jean de Saint Paul about 50 years ago. The tonal center is A=440, in modern pitch. It is a version of today’s modern English horn.
The pearwood body is in excellent condition. Beautiful grain. The ferrules are made of true ivory.
The brass 3-key system is in excellent condition.
This instrument includes the original bocal, and an assortment of reeds to get you started.
The briefcase style case is in very good condition. It has room for another instrument.
