This is a classic Laubin oboe made in (approx.) 1962. It has just been refreshed with many new pads, full cleaning and oiling, and full mechanical adjustment here at our shop. It plays with ease. The tone color is classic warm Laubin, with a wider tone center expected in older Laubin oboes which have been played through the years.
The grenadilla wood body is in very good condition. There were a series of upper joint cracks repaired long ago by Laubin. It’s been stable for decades.
The full conservatory, full plateau silver plated keywork system is in clean, excellent condition with average marks of usage. It has many new pads, some new springs, some new bumpers, new tenon corks, and good condition pads throughout.
This oboe features left hand F, F resonance key, low Bb, split D key, banana key, and both trill keys.
The integral case by Pro-Pac is in excellent condition.
