This Loree bass oboe is a one-owner rarity made in 2001 and kept in immaculate condition. Loree no longer offers a bass oboe with the low Bb extension or violetwood body making this instrument unique and no longer available. It plays with authority and a rich dark chocolate tone. The intonation is superb.
Brian Charles cleaned, oiled, adjusted, and play-tested this bass oboe here in our shop and it’s ready for performance.
The violetwood wood body is in excellent condition with hardly a sign of use to be found. The visual beauty of this instrument is without peer. The matching violetwood low Bb extension is in near-mint condition.
The full conservatory, full plateau silver plated keywork system is in clean, shiny, excellent condition. It has a third octave, key. The pads are in excellent condition throughout.
Four bocals are included. Loree #1, #2, and #3, in silver, and a Hiniker TH212, also in silver. All are in excellent condition.
The original hard shell case is in good condition. It has a slight warp and some wear along the right-hand side but locks firmly and securely. The interior velvet is in like-new condition. The original violetwood tenon caps and grenadilla wood grease cup are included.
