This fine German bassoon has been identified by Mollenhauer as made in the late 1930’s. Unfortunately, the specific records were destroyed during WWII, but they are able to trace  it still. It has excellent intonation and a clear, open, singing upper register.

This bassoon has been cleaned, oiled, adjusted, and play tested here in our shop and it’s ready to play in every way. The keywork was hand polished and oiled, it has many new pads, the bore was oiled – everything it needed has been done already! This bassoon would work well for advanced students, doublers, adult enthusiasts, and most players.

The maple wood body is in very good condition with no boot rot, no tone hole issues, and the beautiful original finish. The original finish and tiger striping are in much better than average condition with wear limited to the usual spots.

The German system silver plated keywork system has been hand cleaned and oiled. This Mollenhauer features a high D key, 5 rollers, a left hand whisper key lock, metal tone hole inserts, a lined wing joint, an in-line body lock, a faux ivory bell ring, and a crutch and crutch assembly.

The silver Fox *CVC* #2, and *CVX* #2 bocals are well matched and in very good condition. The case is in excellent condition.
