This gorgeous German Moosmann bassoon is a highly refined instrument in excellent condition with a free and focused sound, very even intonation and tone. It’s a one owner, model 200A Soloist made in the year 2000.
The Riegel curly Yugoslavian mountain maple body is in excellent condition with less than expected wear. It’s beautifully tiger-striped. Special “French Polish” lacquer finish gives the ultimate in sound with a distinctive satin gloss finish that provides an extremely durable and renewable finish.
The tenor joint and both sides of the boot joint are lined with a rubber material. What makes this unique is the process by which the bassoon is lined. Instead of gluing a rubber piece in place, the rubber material is heated and poured into the joints, allowed to cool and then the forming mandrel is removed. This provides the benefit of a “bonding” of the rubber material with the wood that means it will never come loose and provides for better response and projection.
The keywork is in excellent condition and features a body lock, balance hanger, distance guard, right hand whisper key lock, body lock, silver water tubes, and 11 rollers.
Two bocals are included. A Moosmann brass-gold AST #2, and a Moosmann silver plated PW #2 both in excellent condition.
The Moosmann pro case and fitted cloth cover are in excellent condition.
