This beautiful ‘piccolo’ instrument of the oboe family is in near mint condition. Made by Fratelli Patricola (Patricola Brothers), the well regarded Italian company specializing in oboes and clarinets of the highest quality. It uses short length, full width oboe staples. This means that unlike the Loree version of the musette, you can use standard oboe staples if you cut them down to size on this instrument. Three are included.
This is a one owner oboe used little and well maintained. It was used in performance only once at an IDRS conference. It plays with a sweet dark tone and very good intonation. It plays evenly throughout the octaves with an especially rich and pretty lower register.
Brian Charles cleaned, oiled, adjusted, and play-tested this oboe here in our shop and it’s ready to play in every way.
The grenadilla wood body is in excellent condition with no wear and no cracks.
