Premium quality triple twisted nylon reed makers thread in the most popular “FF” thickness. Say goodbye to reeds that unwrap by themselves (and always at the wrong moment).
It’s got a very slight coating which creates a tight feel when wrapping either oboe or bassoon reeds. When tying off the end, the coating also acts as an extra level of security by making the knot that much more stable.
This premium quality thread is wound onto classic, double-sided wooden spools. Double-sided spools stop the thread from bunching up or coming off one side of the spool as you wrap your reed. The notch on the edge of the spool is there to allow you to secure the thread for storage.
Many players track their reed making by using different colors on different days, or to differentiate between types of cane or staples. Having three or four colors available to color code your reeds is also just plain fun!
Each spool contains 125 yards of thread.
