Schreiber makes very sound bassoons that last and last. This maple bassoon was made in 1970. It has very good intonation and a beautiful upper register.
We just cleaned, oiled, adjusted, and play tested this bassoon here in our shop and it’s ready to play in every way. It has many new pads, many new bumpers.
The maple wood body is in very good condition with no boot rot, and no tone hole issues. The original mahogany finish is in good condition.
The German system silver plated keywork system has just been cleaned and oiled. It is not super shiny, and has a few spots of light wear on finger touch points, but no pitting.
This bassoon features a lined wing joint, lined small bore on boot, body lock, crutch and crutch assembly, and 4 rollers.
The Schreiber #A1 and #A2 bocals are in excellent condition. A brand new ProTec integral case is included.
