This easy playing intermediate bassoon was made prior to 1940 by Wunderlich in Czechoslovakia and sold through Vincenz Puchner, a relative of the famous Puchner bassoon makers.
We just cleaned, oiled, adjusted, and play tested this bassoon here in our shop and it’s ready to play in every way. It has many new pads, bumpers, and has been thoroughly attended to.
The maple wood body is in very good condition with no boot rot. The light wheat colored refinish is gorgeous and allows the wood grain to show through in a remarkable way. It has wear limited to the usual spots.
The German system silver plated keywork system has just been cleaned and oiled. It has some plating loss but has polished up very nicely. This bassoon was probably used in a military or school setting at one point and has a lightly engraved series of numbers and letters on the metal band at the top of the boot.
This bassoon has a crutch assembly (but no crutch). It has 5 rollers, and a new style body lock. An old style body lock was present at some point in the past. The marks of that have been cleaned up and sealed.
The Fox CVC #2 bocal and Fox C#2 bocals are in excellent condition. A ProTec integral case with outer pocket and shoulder strap is included.
