This 1970’s era Schreiber Pro bassoon was made in Nauheim Germany. The full German key system with high D is in very good condition with average wear. Often considered one of the top instruments of that era, it continues to be a popular choice among high level students and enthusiasts. Personally cleaned, oiled, adjusted, and play-tested by Brian Charles in our Kingston workshop, this bassoon is fully prepared for performance. It will be play-tested and carefully adjusted once more just prior to shipment for trial, ensuring it arrives in optimal condition.

Condition

Body

The maple wood body is in very good condition, showing light, expected wear. It has new tenon corks, new bocal corks, and had a full cleaning and resealing of the U tube. The bell ring has a repair and is solid.

Keywork

The German system keywork has normal signs of use and is in excellent mechanical condition. The instrument has been fully adjusted, has some new pads and very good pads and bumpers throughout. It has just been adjusted, key oiled, and carefully play-tested.
