Description
Made of select maple this 2019 Tristan Model 580 English horn has all the depth and resonance for which Fox is known and is 25% lighter in weight than a standard grenadilla English horn. Maple adds a complexity of tone that both blends well in woodwind sections and projects well as a solo instrument. It has been played for fewer than 5 hours and remains virtually like new.
Brian Charles has cleaned, oiled, adjusted, and play-tested this English horn in our shop, ensuring it’s ready for performance. It needed almost nothing – just a little dusting. It will be fully play-tested, and adjusted again just before it goes out on trial to you.
Condition:
Body: The maple body is in pristine condition, having been played for fewer than 5 hours. It remains virtually like new.
Keywork: The full conservatory, full plateau silver-plated keywork system is in pristine condition. It has no faults and remains virtually like new.
