Description
We use these high quality, unblemished 4″ x 6″ cork sheets in our repair shop. Choose between 1.5mm or 2mm thickness. They’re supple and very clear of defects, making them particularly good for oboe and bassoon repair.
Make tenon corks, bocal corks, and thumb rest pads with the thicker version. Use the thinner version for bumpers and connection points.
We recommend using standard contact cement. Cut the cork to size first, moisten both the cork and the surface lightly with the glue. Allow the glue to dry for a few minutes until it’s not tacky. Then apply the cork using care to line up everything properly.
Tenons are a bit trickier. If you’re doing tenons, cut enough to wrap all the way around plus about 1/4 turn. Cut one edge at an angle, so that you can overlap the opposing side, and apply glue as above. Give us a call for more detailed info and some cool tricks.
This single sheet measures 4″ x 6″ (100mm x 150mm)
