Description
This Loree English horn was made in 1973. The tone is rich and resonant. A classic instrument with very good intonation.
Brian Charles has cleaned, oiled, adjusted, and play-tested this English horn in our shop, ensuring it’s ready for performance. It will be fully play-tested, and adjusted again just before it goes out on trial to you.
This instrument was made during a peak period in Lorée’s long-standing tradition of excellence. It’s a fine instrument for someone looking for a solid performance instrument.
Condition:
Body: The grenadilla wood body is in excellent overall condition and has just been cleaned and oiled. It has a top joint crack which was repaired by noted repair guru Bill Brannen sometime before 1974.
Keywork: The full conservatory, full plateau silver-plated keywork system is in clean, oiled, and fully adjusted condition. There is no pitting, and overall, the keywork is in better than expected condition for an instrument of this period.

Bocals:
The Lickman gold #7 bocal suits it well and is in very good condition with average wear and a new cork.
