Description

The Charles swab extractor is an aluminum shaft with threading at one end and a small horizontal slot at the tip of the threaded point. This slot helps catch and pull out the stuck swab. You will definitely need a new swab once the removal is complete. Choose a new swab at a discount.

Caution must be used when removing a stuck swab from the bore of an instrument. This tool must be used carefully to avoid damaging your instrument.

The contoured shape, knurled handle, and slotted head screw make this an effective and safe tool when used properly.

Patience is required when removing a stuck swab. Ensure that the swab extractor remains centered in the bore throughout the process. If the screw tip contacts the side wall of the bore, it could cause damage.

Slide the swab extractor from the larger side of the joint through to the swab. Push firmly into the swab. Twist the tool 1/2 to 1 full turn, and then pull. Multiple small pulls should be expected as the stuck material shreds. It can take up to a full hour of slow, deliberate repeated efforts to fully remove a deeply compressed swab.

Patience is crucial; do not rush. If you get frustrated or need advice, call us and we will guide you through the process.

You will definitely need a new swab once the removal is complete. Choose a new swab at a discount.

The solid aluminum shaft measures 10″ (25cm) from base to tip. The body is 3/16th” (4.75mm) thick. The screw end is 1/2″ (14mm) long. The knurled end measures 3/4″ (20mm).

Charles Double Reed Company is not responsible for any damage or issues resulting from improper use of this product. Made in the US.
