Description
Sequoyah English Horn reeds have a flexible sound, with great tone, and stability. Each comes with tubing to secure the reed to the staple, and a few extra wraps of thread at the bottom to ease placement. We find that they play well in solo situations, especially orchestral highlights where intonation and colorful tone are essential.
To get the most out of these reeds, wet them and let them warm up a bit, and then adjust the wire to get the desired tip opening. They appear very closed at first, but give them a chance to warm up and adjust the tip. We think you’ll like them as much as we do.
These reeds are handmade by the same reedmaker who creates the extremely popular Sequoyah oboe reeds that many folks have ordered from us for quite some time.
These reeds are handmade in limited numbers. The reedmaker sends them as they are ready. If we are out of stock please join the waiting list to be notified when they are back in stock. A 3 to 5 week wait is sometimes possible.
