This pre-owned short bore Fox model 201 bassoon was made in 1977. It’s had an easy life, and is in excellent overall condition. The tone is light and flexible, with rich sonority in the upper register. An expressive instrument. Personally cleaned, oiled, adjusted, and play-tested by Brian Charles in our Kingston workshop, this bassoon is fully prepared for performance. It will be play-tested and carefully adjusted once more just prior to shipment for trial, ensuring it arrives in optimal condition.

Condition

Body

The red maple body is finished in a rich mahogany with light tiger striping. It's in excellent condition with limited light, expected wear.

Keywork

The German system keywork is in excellent mechanical and aesthetic condition. The instrument has been fully adjusted, with some new pads and excellent pads throughout. It has just been adjusted, key oiled, and carefully play-tested.
