Description

Arkansas Stones are a natural sharpening stone mined only in the Ouachita Mountains of Arkansas. They are quarried by blasting and the use of diamond saws. They are then cut into rectangular shaped whetstones to be used for sharpening knives and tools. Arkansas stones are made of Novaculite.

This hard, exceptionally fine oil stone helps you create a very smooth edge on your best reed making knives. This hard Arkansas stone grit is approximately 1500 grit which leaves a very fine edge.

You can use this stone dry or with Norton honing oil to help ‘float’ the stray removed metal bits on the surface. This prevents ‘glazing’ and potentially extends the life of this stone.

The non-slip base features rubberized feet to help keep the stone stationary while sharpening. The stone flips over and can be stored inside the case for mess free transport.

The overall stone size is 6″ x 2″.

Made by Lansky.
