Description
The Buffet Crampon Prestige Oboe is a professional-level instrument renowned for its rich, assertive tone and exceptional craftsmanship. This GreenLine model was made in 2012 and kept in excellent condition. This oboe was designed to meet the demands of advanced musicians across various musical settings, including orchestral, chamber, and solo performances.
Buffet Crampon’s GreenLine material is a composite consisting of 95% grenadilla (African blackwood) powder and 5% carbon fiber. This innovative blend is created by pulverizing grenadilla wood remnants into a fine powder and then pressure-forming it with carbon fibers. The resulting material retains the acoustic properties of traditional grenadilla wood but offers enhanced durability and resistance to cracking, especially under varying temperature and humidity conditions. The use of wood powder in GreenLine instruments supports environmental conservation by reducing the need for harvesting additional grenadilla trees.
Brian Charles has cleaned, oiled, adjusted, and play-tested this oboe in our shop, ensuring it’s ready for performance. It will be fully play-tested, and adjusted again just before it goes out on trial to you. This instrument is an excellent choice for professional level players and aspiring musicians.
Condition:
Body: The GreenLine body is in excellent condition. It will not crack.
Keywork: The Prestige model full conservatory, full plateau silver-plated keywork system is in clean, oiled, and fully adjusted condition. The pads are in excellent condition.
