Description
This Fox 601 professional bassoon was made in 1998 and carefully treated throughout its life. It’s a one owner instrument with great intonation, and a warm sonorous tone quality.
Brian Charles has cleaned, oiled, adjusted, and play-tested this bassoon in our shop. It’s had a full key removal hand cleaning, removal of old oil, reoiled keywork, oiled bore, mechanical adjustment and play testing. It has all new tenon corks. It will be fully play-tested, and adjusted again just before it goes out on trial to you.
Condition:
Body: The mountain maple wood body is in excellent condition with some evidence of use but no issues. It’s a thick-wall, long bore bassoon, designed for a deep, sonorous tone, especially in the low register. Expect easy projection, great resonance, and a tone with delightful character.
Keywork: The German system silver plated keywork system is in clean, oiled, and fully adjusted condition. There are some signs of use but no damage and no issues.

Bocals:
The Heckel VCD #2 (z) and Fox *CVC* #3 bocals are in excellent condition.
Case:
The original Fox pro hard shell case is in excellent condition with expected wear. The Fox fitted cloth case cover is in good but somewhat worn condition.
