Description
This all synthetic intermediate level oboe was made in the 1980’s by Ben Storch, the founder of Gordet.
It was made for Whitney Tustin, a renowned oboist and author, as an early example of how great a synthetic bodied oboe could be. It offers a dark tone with excellent intonation, playing evenly across all octaves. It’s a wonderfully rich and resonant instrument.
Brian Charles has cleaned, oiled, adjusted, and play-tested this oboe in our shop, ensuring it’s ready for performance. It will be fully play-tested, and adjusted again just before it goes out on trial to you.
Condition:
Body: The fully synthetic body is in very good condition with an average amount of wear. No worries abut cracking with a synthetic instrument. Play it outdoors or indoors.
Keywork: The full conservatory, full plateau silver-plated keywork system with a third octave key is in clean, oiled, and fully adjusted condition. There is plating loss on some of the touch keys. We just replaced 5 pads, bumpers as needed, and fully oiled the keywork.
