Description

This classic Heckel bassoon was made in 1912 and has had a full overhaul by Brian Charles. It has the power and projection of a 6,000 series Heckel, yet has a refined tone. It has been owned and played for many years by a NYC professional. We are selling this fine instrument for his estate.

The maple wood body has its original rich, maroon-red finish, which is in good condition for its age. It’s just been sealed and needs nothing. There is no boot rot and no tone hole issues.

The silver-plated German keywork system has just been overhauled. It has not been replated and has plating wear in the usual places. The ivory bell ring was cracked and was filled and stabilized as seen in the photos. We were able to retain all of the remaining original ivory.

This bassoon was made without rollers.

The Heckel #2, and Heckel VCD #3 bocals are in very good condition. A brand new ProTec integral case is included.
