Description

A fine pro German bassoon made in 1967 and recently overhauled. It offers snappy response and a gorgeous warm focused tone.

Brian Charles adjusted, oiled, cleaned, and play-tested this bassoon here in our shop and it’s ready for performance. It will be play-tested and adjusted once again just before it goes out on trial. This top-level instrument will work well for advanced students, doublers, adult enthusiasts, and pro players.

The maple wood body is in average condition with nice tiger striping, no boot rot, and no tone hole issues. The finish has superficial craquelure in various places and has the average amount of wear at the touch points.

The German system silver-plated keywork system is clean and oiled. It has the average amount of wear in the usual spots including some plating loss at the touch points. It has all new pads throughout.

This bassoon features a high D key, tone hole inserts, a lined wing joint, a lined small bore on the boot, a body lock, a crutch and a crutch assembly, 5 rollers, and a right-hand whisper key lock. It has a removable tuning ring between the long joint and the boot. It has a metal tenon ring on the wing joint and a metal bell ring. There is a ring attached to the boot cap hole, which can be used for your boot strap with hook, or removed for a cup style boot strap.

A well-matched silver Heckel CC #2 bocal in excellent condition is included. The very cool carbon-fiber hard shell case by BAM is in excellent condition.
