Description

This easy-playing Fox Renard bassoon was made in 1999. It’s a one-owner instrument with very good intonation and a beautiful tone throughout the registers.

Brian Charles just cleaned, oiled, adjusted, and play-tested this bassoon here in our shop and it’s ready to play in every way. This is a very good condition instrument at a reasonable price and would work well for students, doublers, and adult enthusiasts.

The maple wood “long-bore” body is in very good condition with no issues and less than the average amount of wear. The U-tube has been removed, cleaned, recorked, and resealed. The original mahogany finish from Fox is in average condition with very few signs of wear. Long-bore means the body is specially built to offer a warm, clear tone.

The German system silver-plated keywork system has just been cleaned and oiled. It has some new pads and excellent condition pads and bumpers throughout. It has some signs of use, but fewer than average.

This bassoon features metal tone hole inserts, a lined wing joint, lined small bore on the boot, an in-line body lock, a synthetic ivory bell ring, a crutch and crutch assembly, and a neck strap ring. It has high D, 4 rollers, and a right-hand whisper key lock.

The Fox CVX #1 and #2 bocals are in very good condition with very slight pitting in the silver. The original Fox hard shell case is in very good condition with average exterior wear and excellent interior.
