Description
This one owner classic Loree was made in 1966 and has a fresh overhaul. The Loree models made in the 60’s including instruments that have a serial number that starts with B and C are sought after for their distinctive rich, warm, dark tone. This oboe is rich and resonant throughout the octaves.
Brian Charles has just fully overhauled this oboe. It has all new pads, bumpers, tenon corks, had a full oiling of both wood and metal work, is hand polished, mechanically adjusted and thoroughly play tested. It will be fully play-tested and adjusted again just before it goes out on trial to you.
Condition:
Body: The grenadilla wood body is in excellent condition. The small top joint crack was repaired in 1967 by Edmund Nielsen.
Keywork: The full conservatory, full plateau silver-plated keywork system is in clean, oiled, and fully adjusted condition. There is minor plating loss. Two additions were made within early years by William Brannen. He installed a forked F closure screw and closed off the low Bb resonance key. Both were done for intonation purposes. Many prefer B series oboes to have both auxiliary keys closed off.
Features:
- Left hand F
- F resonance key
- Split D key
- Low Bb
- Banana (Gillet) key
- Both trill keys
Case:
The ProTec MAX integral case with shoulder and backpack straps is brand new.
