Description

This fine German bassoon was made in 1971 and played professionally. It’s a 2 owner instrument with very good intonation and a rich, classic German tone.

Brian Charles just cleaned, oiled, adjusted, and play-tested this bassoon here in our shop and it’s ready to play in every way. This instrument will be great for a graduating senior to take them into college and beyond. Advanced students, doublers, adult enthusiasts, and pro players will find this an excellent players horn.

The maple wood body is in good condition with no boot rot, and no tone hole issues. The finish is worn as expected with wear limited to the usual spots.

The German system silver-plated keywork system has just been cleaned and oiled. It’s worn, but solid and has some new pads and very good condition pads throughout.

This bassoon features plastic tone hole inserts, lined wing joint, lined small bore on boot, body lock, high D, 6 rollers, and a right-hand whisper key lock.

The Puchner B #1 and B #2 bocals have new cork and are in excellent condition. There is a small dent in the #1. The original Puchner leather-covered case and an Altieri cover are included.
