Description
This fine pro German bassoon was made in 1971. It has been played professionally by a featured soloist and lovingly maintained. It has all the hallmarks of the best “original” model Puchner’s including solid intonation throughout, and a versatile tone suitable for both the concert hall and smaller ensemble work.
Brian Charles has cleaned, oiled, adjusted, and play-tested this bassoon in our shop, ensuring it’s ready for performance. It will be fully play-tested, and adjusted again just before it goes out on trial to you.
This this an excellent professional instrument suited for advanced players looking for the subtle and powerful character of a fine Puchner.
Condition:
Body: The maple wood body is in excellent condition with no boot rot, and no tone hole issues. It shows somewhat less than the normal amount of wear.
Keywork: The German system silver plated keywork system is in clean, oiled, and fully adjusted condition. Some pads are new, and it has very good condition pads throughout. It has the expected amount of wear.

Bocals:
The Puchner B#1, and B#2 silver bocals match the instrument well and are in excellent condition. The #1 has a small ding in the body as shown in the photo.
Case:
The original Puchner hard shell case and fitted Altieri cover are in very good condition with average wear.
