Description

This Schreiber Nauheim bassoon was made in 1967 and plays with a lively, easy tone. It’s a fine example of a classic, well-regarded instrument.

Brian Charles just cleaned, oiled, adjusted, and play-tested this bassoon here in our shop and it’s ready to play in every way. This instrument will work well for students, doublers, and adult enthusiasts.

The maple wood body is in very good condition with no boot rot, and no tone hole issues. The finish is original and in excellent condition. The U-tube has just been cleaned and examined, finding no rot, or damage. The U-tube cork has just been replaced.

The German system silver-plated keywork system has just been cleaned and oiled. It has some new pads and very good condition pads throughout.

This bassoon features plastic tone hole water tubes, a crutch and crutch assembly, a body lock, and four rollers. It does not have a high d key.

The Schreiber XH #1 and XH #2 bocals are in excellent condition. The original Schreiber hard shell case is in excellent condition. A copy of the original guarantee certificate from the Carl Fischer Company, the original seller, with a signature from noted bassoonist Manny Zegler, is included.
