Description
This classic Loree oboe was made in 1974 and has the tonal character that makes 1970’s Loree’s so desirable yet affordable. The dark, warm tone and very good intonation make this a standout instrument. It plays evenly and easily throughout the octaves.
The price has just been dropped as the owner is moving and would like to have this oboe in a new home soon!
Brian Charles just cleaned, oiled, adjusted, and play-tested this oboe here in our shop and it’s ready for performance. Brian will again play test and fine-tune this instrument right before it ships to you.
The gorgeous grenadilla wood body is in excellent, much better than expected condition, and has no cracks. No cracks at this age mean the possibility of future cracks is greatly diminished.
This is the classic C model which has the full conservatory, full plateau silver-plated keywork system. All the metalwork has just been dusted and hand-cleaned. It’s shiny and in excellent condition. We replaced a few pads and there are excellent condition pads throughout the instrument.
This oboe features left-hand F, F resonance key, low Bb, Bb resonance key, banana key, and both trill keys.
The original Loree hard shell case is in excellent condition. A Loree 3 reed case is included.
